RMSC is involved in planning for a new performing arts organization, to be called "The Conservatory: Arts R****" We are considering a number of possible "R" words for the final word in the name, and would love to have our community weigh in with ideas about the best "R"!

The concept:

A performing arts center, offering training and opportunities for professional-quality LIVE performances in the greater Daytona Beach, FL, area. LIVE, organic performances will also be streamed worldwide for our distant fans.

Centering on theatre, the most collaborative and gathering of artforms, we also plan to include dance and music, focusing on classical forms and techniques, nurturing and uplifting talent in these forms and exposing generations of children starved for the fruits of our culture to LIVING, IN-PERSON, ART.

We believe that, with the decline of Hollywood at the hands of its own corporate corruption and the looming threat of AI, we are poised on the edge of a reawakening hunger for the HUMAN--for LIVE, IN-PERSON, LIVING ART. As everything becomes increasingly less genuine and less PERSON-al, people long ever more for real human connection and genuine human experience.

We want to offer:

• Opportunities for people to experience LIVING ART, whether theatrical, dance, or music, unaltered by AI or autotune, and to share the experience of art as it is being created, in all its evanescent, human reality.

• Opportunities for artists in the realms of theatre, dance, and music to visit, collaborate, share, teach and learn, and bring forth new work reflecting the best of our cultural legacy.

• Opportunities for students of all ages, including professionals, to pursue or continue their training in their performance disciplines, challenged to value, and add their talents to, the legacy of our culture's artistic excellence.

• Opportunities for the children of our area to see LIVE, genuine performances of high quality. Our plan is to offer FREE performances for area school groups, many of whom may never have seen a live performance(!), during school hours. Bring back cultural field trips!

• Opportunities for our entire community to join us, in fun interactive events exploring how they might bring out their own inner artists and add their own contributions to our culture's legacy of TRUTH, GOODNESS, and BEAUTY.

• Opportunities to explore the universal HUMAN condition in fearless, challenging, and delightful ways, through LIVING ART.

Live, embodied sharing of stories is how humans have made sense of the world and their lives, for as long as there have been humans. Once again, we raise our cry: #SaveLiveTheatreSaveTheWorld!
